Instructions for Camera-Ready Papers

This instructions will help you in formatting the camera-ready version of your RecSys paper.

  1. Have you completed the ACM rightsreview e-form for your submission?
 If you have not received an email from , check the contact author(s)’s junk or spam email folders and complete the form promptly. If the rightsreview form can not be located, email with your Paper ID number, title, and correct contact author’s valid email address.

  2. All submission must comply with the ACM SIG proceedings templates (sig-conf) and formatting.
  3. Be sure that all 3rd party material is properly documented. Please review the copyright policy.
  4. Additionally, we want to make the proceedings accessible and thus ask all authors to follow the SIG accessibility guidelines.

Page Limit

  • Long Paper: 8 pages, references (up to 1 page) excluded
  • Short Paper: 4 pages, references (up to 1 page) excluded
  • Doctoral Symposium: 4 pages, references excluded
  • Demo Papers: 2 pages, references included
  • Tutorial Summaries: 2 pages, references included
  • Workshop Summaries: 2 pages, references included
    • 1 Challenge Summary: 2 pages, references included
    • 1 Poster (LBR) Summary: 2 pages, references included
  • Industry Talks: 1 page, references included
  • Keynotes: 1 page, references included
2. ACM Templates

Your camera-ready submission must be formatted according to the new standard double-column ACM SIG proceedings format. The new format is available here.

Authors are required to include a proper classification for the paper according to the ACM Classification System (CCS). Additional information on how to use it is available here.

2.1 Word Template
  • Download the Interim layout.docx file at here.
  • Download and install the Libertine fonts on your system. You can find the font set in different formats at here (we suggest installing the opentype folder content).
  • Based on how the ACM eform was completed, paste the copyright information your corresponding author received in the email confirmation in the bottom-left part of the first page of your submission
  • Please do not enter the page numbers
  • Please notice that the paper must have Type 1 fonts (scalable), and not Type 3 (bit-mapped). All fonts must be embedded within the PDF file. Any PDF that is not deposited with fonts embedded will need to be corrected. In order to help you through this process, ACM has created documentation on how to embed your fonts.
  • You may use also the ACM Digital Library optimal distiller settings file, ACM.joboptions.
2.2 LaTex instructions
  • Please download the LaTex template files. Please use the sigconf document class. Overleaf users will find the template already installed in the environment.
  • Based on how the ACM eform was completed, paste the copyright macro you received in the email confirmation for getting the right copyright notice.
  • Please do not enter the page numbers
  • Please notice that the paper must have Type 1 fonts (scalable), and not Type 3 (bit-mapped). All fonts must be embedded within the PDF file. Any PDF that is not deposited with fonts embedded will need to be corrected. In order to help you through this process, ACM has created documentation on how to embed your fonts.

3. Paper Metadata
  • Double check that your title and abstract fields in the submission page match the text in your paper.
  • Be sure that the title is in Initial Caps. Initial Caps Meaning First Letter of the Main Words Should be Made Capital Letters. Capitalize the First Letter of Main Words in the Title (Most Nouns), except a, an, the, conjunctions (and, but, or, for,…), and prepositions (of, to, in, on,…)
  • Double check the contact author name, affiliation and email in both the paper and submission fields.
  • Double check the co-authors names, affiliations and emails in both the paper and the submission fields.

Format your PDF according to the SIGACCESS guidelines.
